Maui Life No Ka Oi !

Maui Life® designs and produces lifestyle apparel and accessories for men, women and children inspired by the mauka to makai (from mountain to the sea) island life on Maui.

This Maui family company was founded in 2017 by the Matthew Murasko, his son Zane and wife Alane. The Murasko ‘ohana have resided in Haiku since 2005. Murasko is Board Member of the non-profit Marine Institute at Maui Ocean Center since 2019 and Alane is a Board Member for the non-profit Maui Cultural Lands since 2009.

Murasko is also part of the team that assisted in the launch of OluKai footwear in 2005 and for 10+ years was the OluKai Hawai’i Ambassador, created the annual OluKai Hoʻolauleʻa Maui and assisted the marketing team in with numerous brand building initiatives.  Murasko also co-founded the Rabbit Kekai Foundation, a youth surfing non-profit with Uncle Rabbit Kekai from 2002 to 2007.

Maui Island Logo

Murasko designed the maulife™ island logo inspired from paddling his SUP board on the world famous Maliko to Kanaha downwind run. When you are a mile offshore and turn mauka (towards the mountains) you see the blue of the moana (deep ocean) to the teal green colors of the reef, the sandy brown shoreline, the green island shapes of from Haleʻakala, Maʻalaeʻa to the West Maui Mountains, to the red, orange and yellows of the Maui sunset.

You will see these colors and patterns of this logo used throughout various products. The selected icon of mauilife™ is the shaka, originally used by Hawaiian surfers in 70’s has now become a universal hand gesture used by cultures around the globe. The “shaka” or ” hang loose” is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and the island surf culture and lifestyle. Enjoy The Maui Life!
